Barriers to Climate Change

While looking into to the issue of climate change two things stood out to me: a lack of conversation and a lack of focus.

The lack of conversation stems from a very partisan discussion. The strong opinions on both sides of the issue have valid concerns and thoughts, but little to no openness to consider the other side of the issue. Because of this we are getting nowhere.

The lack of focus on the issue of global warming is perhaps it's greatest barrier. As with anything there are countless stories and micro issues surrounding the greater topic. But these stories and side issues are not going to draw neutral people in to care about the issue. A general focus is what is called for. If activists would stop trying to incorporate stories that only minutely deal with the actual issue of global warming and are more social issues, a great deal of progress could be made in people passionately, meaningfully caring about the issue of global warming.

Contextual Analysis Topic
